SeCuRe and Agile Connected Things

Development and operation of secure, large-scale IoT systems is hard. While there exist technological platforms aimed at providing the necessary building blocks to integrate devices and backbone logic, they do not address the major concerns of today’s software-intensive systems: security, agility and a need for continuous deployment.

Predictive and Prescriptive Automation in Smart Manufacturing

PIANiSM aims at putting together predictive and prescriptive maintenance techniques to achieve an end-to-end automated manufacturing process and optimise end-to-end manufacturing value chains. To disrupt traditional maintenance processes in manufacturing environments, a sophisticated system that covers a wide range of domains such as data science, machine learning, analytics, simulation and real-time processing is required. PIANiSM will provide missing analytics techniques and algorithms, introduce new generation of data identification & integration and modelling processes, and will enable flexible and applicable solutions for manufacturers.

Security, fraud detection and encryption for smart grids based on AI

Europe is transforming the current obsolete electricity network into an advanced, digitised and more efficient one known as the Smart Grid. One major innovative aspect of the project relies on applying AI and Big Data analysis techniques to the large amounts of data gathered by the Smart Grid. The massive collection of data occurring within Smart Grids also creates new threats that will be addressed by the second major innovative aspect of this project, which is security improvement.

Energy Services Platform based on integration and analysis of data from multiple sources

Based on the integration of the energy certification data provided by the Institut Català d'Energia (ICAEN), technical inspection of buildings provided by the Agència de l'Habitatge de Catalunya, cadastre data, and state regulations for building rehabilitation, Two applications have been created to facilitate access to this data to two types of users: building and housing owners, and municipal technicians and managers. Through these applications, users can assess the status of buildings, choose rehabilitation measures and know the cost of their implementation, both at the building and housing scale (ENERHAT), and in an urban area (ENERPAT).
